Self-Education
In today’s fast-changing and modern world, the role of self-education is highly important, if not decisive. An individual lays the foundation of their knowledge at school, where they are guided to understand what they need and how to act to achieve it. However, school or university education alone is not enough for personal growth, further development, and professional excellence.
The development of information technologies has a direct and indirect impact on the transformation of work, making the collection and application of information much easier and more efficient. Those who succeed are the ones who can adapt to their environment and circumstances, manage or even change situations, acquire the necessary information, or simply move forward along the path dictated by life.
If we fail to recognize the importance of self-education, we will not only stop progressing but will regress significantly. Regardless of how society evolves, a person is always capable of improving themselves and shaping the world according to their vision. Through self-education, one not only gains knowledge but also discovers themselves. It enables individuals to become more competitive and resilient in the face of challenges and to develop critical thinking skills. Self-education is relevant in every era and requires a great sense of responsibility. Only through quality education can a truly educated society be formed. It allows individuals to grow personally, develop independent thinking, form their own opinions, and express them confidently.
Thus, self-education is a conscious and continuous process aimed at acquiring new knowledge and skills. It is admirable when a person follows the Socratic principle, “I know that I know nothing,” and strives to continually improve and evolve as an essential part of society.
