The Use of Digital Tools in Armenian Language Lessons
In the 21st century, education is rapidly evolving in response to technological progress. One of the key aspects of this transformation is the integration of digital tools into the learning process, which is particularly important in language education. The use of digital tools in Armenian language classes not only modernizes teaching but also enhances student engagement, participation, and the development of linguistic skills.
Most students today are already familiar with the digital world, which makes the use of such tools in the classroom both logical and effective. Any language is truly alive when it is applied in daily life. With its vast opportunities, the digital environment can become a platform for communication, reading, writing, and critical thinking in Armenian.
For example, platforms such as Kahoot allow teachers to create interactive exercises focusing on vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, or sentence structure. These game-based methods encourage active participation. Google Docs, on the other hand, can be used for group projects, collaborative writing, or thematic discussions, engaging students in creative activities. Equally important is the use of YouTube and other educational videos. Films, literary discussions, and lectures bring more dynamism to the learning process and promote the development of analytical thinking. The largest Armenian digital dictionary, Nayiri.com, also serves as a powerful tool for linguistic studies.
However, while digital tools have great potential, their use must be thoughtful and purposeful. Teachers should carefully evaluate the relevance of each tool to the lesson’s topic and the students’ level. At the same time, the priority should remain the development of linguistic thinking, avoiding superficial or purely mechanical applications.
Integrating digital tools into Armenian language classes not only improves teaching efficiency but also strengthens linguistic thinking in line with the needs of today’s generation. They allow learning to go beyond the limits of textbooks and encourage the creation of more innovative and creative teaching methods. Therefore, digital learning is no longer a choice but a necessity.
